North Carolina emcee and producer CASTLE is preparing to release his MMG debut “Gasface” July 23rd. To keep people from feeling blindsided by such a big bag a dope, we brought in Has-Lo to curate a pre-release Ep of unreleased CASTLE material to introduce listeners. Ultra-lyrical, heavily satirical, and way beyond the empirical: CASTLE.
Calgary duo “Humble Giants” definitely come correct on the second single from “PsYYChology”, a project featuring the YYC’s finest rhyming over beats by Teekay of Dragon Fli Empire. The duo (comprised of emcees Halfcut and TBT) murder Teekay’s energetic production, which features triumphant horns and a little nod to A Tribe Called Quest.
When veteran Chicago rapper/painter Infinito 2017 and DJ Cosm (of Canada’s Dragon Fli Empire) were both touring Europe, they were introduced to each other’s music through a mutual friend in Paris. After building for awhile, they decided to work on a project. The result is this 15 track collection of banging beats and rhymes, “Dope Fresh” which released last week. The video for the lead single “How To Dominate” has just dropped, and the visuals for this bangin’ single don’t disappoint!
Raw, creative, and versatile are just a few words that describe Ramo Dajaneiro’s style of Hip Hop. His colorful commentary paints lyrical pictures of his personal experiences growing up in the streets of Detroit and handling life’s everyday pressures. While “Ramo” is the reversal of his government name, Omar, it is also an acronym for: “Running Matha f*ckas Over.” Not meant in a literal sense, the acronym symbolizes “an ode to never taking no prisoners in life,” as he states. Raw, uncut commentary of a young man who knows firsthand, that life is what you make it; no matter your situation. R.A.M.O.’s music is far from being sugar-coated. And his flow is almost reminiscent of 50 Cent in his “Get Rich or Die Trying” days. If this is your first time hearing R.A.M.O., his newest release “From The Bottom to The Top” is just a small taste of what this emcee has to offer.
Most stories about the american dream either begins at the bottom with the world watching your rise to the top or we witness the unfortunate fall from grace. Whether it’s movies or music, the grey area, the backbone of our very nation is taken for granted. The Middle class is the engine that keeps America running in a time where wealth and high fashion is glorified.
Los-Angeles based emcee Sum presents “Timeless Re:set by Yamin Semali”, a remix of “Timeless”, a Ski Beatz-produced track from his most recent album Dragon Vol. 1, which also features Needlz, DK The Punisher, brandUn deShay, Dibia$e, Belief, Tye Hill, Computer Jay, P.U.D.G.E. and Blockhead. “Re:Set” comes courtesy of Yamin Semali, the Atlanta-based emcee/producer and Clan Destined member who recently released his debut solo album Yamin and will appear on Dragon RE:Imagined, which will feature remixes of songs that originally appeared on Dv1, one of RapReviews.com’s top ten albums of 2012. The remix album will be released late summer 2013, and will also feature productions from P.U.D.G.E., DT of Clan Destined, Illastrate, Alex Gloworld, 414Beg and others. Sum is set to announce a contest that will invite producers to compete for a slot on the remix project, and the next full-length album from the Dragon series. “It was an honor to work with so many great producers on Dv1, and now I’m humbled again at the number of great producers who want to take part in the remix project,” says Sum. To have a great rising legend (and good friend) like Yamin remix a song of mine produced by longtime legend Ski Beatz is crazy to me. I still get excited about this kinda stuff.”
